PRESS RELEASE
SIGN HERE SIGNS ON WITH NEW KPMF VEHICLE WRAPPING FILMS
First in the UK to demonstrate the effectiveness of VWS 11,
Kay Premium Marking Films'
twin-component vehicle wrapping system, is Glasgow-based signs
and wide-format graphics provider, Sign Here. "Boldly
going" where none had gone before - and for the project
that coincidentally marks its own first venture into vehicle
wrap production - Sign Here selected the new cast vinyl/overlaminate
film combination to decorate a series of distillery and bond
store service vehicles operated in Scotland by the international
drinks giant, Diageo.
The choice of VWS 11 was prompted almost solely by the fast,
positive response the company received from the material's
UK distributor, KPMF Direct, when it began the process of
looking for a product suitable for the Diageo vehicle graphics.
With limited erstwhile experience of printing on wrapping
films, Sign Here was looking for sound constructive advice
and help with the provision of sufficient sample materials
to get a proper feel for how they performed and how best to
handle them. KPMF Direct came up trumps in both regards.
"Compared with the suppliers of other wrapping films,
KPMF Direct were a breath of fresh air," says Sign Here's
Ron Taylor. "They understood immediately our concerns
and what we needed and, unlike others we contacted, were proactive
in their responses at every stage. Their service is exemplary."
Ron is equally complimentary about VWS 11, having been pleasantly
surprised when the films behaved exactly as promised. "So
many vinyls we're told will perform, just don't," he
says, pulling no punches. "With VWS 11 we found we could
print straight to film, with no fiddling around, and the results
were every bit as good as we had hoped."
Sign Here printed the Diageo vehicle graphics on a 54in,
"Jetster" badged, Mutoh Rockhopper from Spandex.
As well as the Bells whisky wrap pictured, the company also
produced schemes for a variety of service vans and cars -
and even a 15-seater bus - featuring other Diageo brands such
as Johnnie Walker whisky, Smirnoff vodka, Gordons and Tanqueray
gin and Bailey's Irish Cream.
The acid test of vehicle wraps comes, of course, with the
application itself. Although this was Sign Here's first Diageo
project - facilitated through Dynamic-ink of Glasgow - Ron
refused to be fazed by the tight delivery schedule set by
the client. "We employed our regular team of vinyl applicators
and, with the help of the instructional video and manual downloaded
from the KPMF web site, they found no problems in doing a
first-class job," he says.
"The VWS 11 films are very user friendly indeed, in
terms of both printing and applying. There is a real synergy
between the printable, matt white self-adhesive cast vinyl
and the gloss clear overlaminate that brings out the printed
colours as never before and delivers a stunning visual result.
So much so, in fact, that the client intends to partially
wrap another 10 vehicles."
