KPMF operate using regular shipping days to their distributors throughout the rest of the world.

Although all KPMF products are manufactured to defined specifications there is an allowable +/- tolerance for the final colour production.  For this reason KPMF always advise that customers complete any application using material taken from a single batch of material.

Colour matching is available for Cast and Calendered products subject to minimum order quantities and specified lead times.

KPMF can usually provide materials that will perform in a similar manner to competitor products, however due to the variation in raw materials and suppliers they would not necessarily be identical.

The majority of calendered and cast vinyls can be digitally printed however KPMF would always recommend that a print test is carried out prior to proceeding.

Rolls of vinyl should be stored on end to avoid pressure marking. 

Extremes in temperature and humidity should be avoided.  High temperatures can lead to adhesive bleed, whilst humidity may cause problems with the backing papers such as curl etc. 

All self adhesive vinyl should be allowed 24 hours to acclimatise to workshop temperatures and humidlty levels, before usage.  The ideal recommended storage condition is 15°C - 25°C and 50% relative humidity. 

Avoid storing in direct sunlight or near heaters.  Keep the rolls off the floor, as dampness from the floor may be absorbed into the backing paper.

You should contact the distributor where the material was bought from.  If necessary your distributor will forward the complaint on to KPMF.

You will need to provide the following details:

• Full material product code and material description.
• Material batch number or invoice number.
• The quantity of material the claim covers.
• Full details of the problem encountered.
• Photographs and a sample of the material showing the problem.

Your distributor will advise disposal of the material.

Cast and Calendered vinyls get their names from the different production methods used to manufacture the films. 

Cast vinyl film production begins with a recipe (formulation) that is mixed to produce a liquid known as an organosol.  The organosol is poured onto casting paper and processed through casting ovens to evaporate off the solvents resulting in a thin vinyl with excellent durability and conformability.  The type of casting paper used determines the finish of the face film e.g. gloss or matt.

Cast vinyl offers low shrinkage, high conformability and a 10 - 12 year life.

Calendered vinyl production begins with a dough like base formula that is fed through a series of polished steel calendering rollers to progressively squeeze and stretch the vinyl into the required thickness.  The finish on the rollers used determines the finish on the calendered vinyl film e.g. gloss, matt or patterned.

Calendered vinyl is less expensive, offers minimal shrinkage, good conformability and a 5 - 7 year life.

Monomeric calendered vinyl is the least expensive vinyl film option.  It offers a 1 - 3 year life but is liable to shrinkage.

Polymeric calendered vinyl is manufactured with added polymers to reduce shrinkage, it offers a 5 - 7 year life.
